What is Film Lab?

Film Lab is a practical resource for creative people with a desire to make narrative based films.

Film Lab will actively support and encourage writers, directors and producers in telling entertaining and engaging stories.

From the boundless possibilities of the internet - to the rapidly expanding film festival circuit - Film Lab intends to help in the production of films (both short and feature length) that have the potential to reach as wide an audience as possible. Operating with the full backing of Waterford City Council Arts Office, Film Lab has full access to a wide array of equipment, skills and industry experience.

Film Lab’s primary and ongoing aim will be  to support, educate and nurture the ambitions of both the amateur and professional film-maker - and to aid in the development of a thriving local film industry.

Aims:

    ● Train local people in the business of film.
    ● On the Job training of crews in Waterford.
    ● Help people to make movies that communicate more effectively.
    ● Bring the film making community of Waterford together.
    ● Provide equipment to the local film making community.
    ● Provide a platform to bring International Film Productions to Waterford.
